Come and enjoy the 4-day Christmas Festival of racing at Limerick

The 4 day Guinness Christmas Festival of National Hunt Horse Racing, will be taking place at Limerick from the 26th to the 29th December 2009.
This event, which is held annually, is the highlight of the social calendar at Christmas time and visitors can expect to enjoy four days of fantastic racing, great food, lots of fun and live entertainment.

The live action starts at 12.35pm every day of the festival at Limerick’s Greenmount Park, with large screens showing the live racing from Leopardstown and Kempton Park in Britain too, so you will not miss a race. Visitors can enjoy a Spa Zone, which is a new feature to the festival, offering a range of services including manicure, nail painting, foot massage and make up. The Spa Zone is being operated by Fitzgerald’s Woodlands House Hotel and Spa.
There is a supervised Kids Club to keep the children entertained with face painting, games, drawing, colouring, nail art and temporary tattoos on offer. Those that wish to stay on after the days racing can enjoy live music on the 26th and 27th December 2009, with SPIN southwest radio providing great music on the 28th December 2009.

The racecourse also provides one of the premier hospitality venues in Munster and the whole of Ireland, offering a wide range of hospitality options to suit all needs thanks to their award winning onsite-catering team, An Excellent Choice.
Guests can enjoy the racing from the panoramic restaurant in the Greenmount Suite, with racing packages starting from €50 per person. The Hugh McMahon Stand provides the option of a private or semi private venue for 10 – 450 people. This offers the ideal opportunity for people to watch the racing action in comfortable surroundings whilst being able to wine and dine their guests.
Limerick racecourse is located just 6 miles south of Limerick City on the M20 and is situated on the Annacotty to Adare bypass system that connects to the main route for Dublin, Cork, Killarney and Shannon Airport. Cars can be conveniently hired from Dublin’s many car rental businesses to allow you to make your own way to have a great day out at the races.
