Seven of the Best Irish bars (From a Cast of Thousands!!)

After exhaustive research, our dedicated staff have managed to narrow it down to Seven! It was a tough job but someone had to do it!!

7. EJ Morrissey's, Abbeyleix, Co. Laois.

The black doors of Morrissey's are a swirling time machine, you disappear inside to a bygone age. Scuttle into one of it's many warren like snugs and sink a few pints of the black stuff.

6. The Crown Liquor Salon, Belfast.

Pure opulence. Sip a beer surrounded by a mass of marble, mahogany and stained glass. An afternoon alone can be lost marvelling at the yellow, gold and red ceiling.

5. The Gravediggers, Glasnevin, Dublin

Oh! Away from all the world's pressures, The Gravediggers is a swell spot. So called because of it's proximity to the legendary Glasnevin cemetery, it is everything a proper boozer should be - no TV, no music, no phones and THE best pint of stout in the city!

4. Murray's, Maghera, Co. Westmeath

Out on it's own, you'll know what I mean when you get there! That is if you ever find it! Drinking in Ireland's most hidden tavern is something of a meditation.

3. Finn McCool's, Ballyshannon, Co. Donegal

Tiny, tiny, tiny but great, great, great! Pure pleasure is whittling away a lost week-end inside of old Finn's.

2. McCarthy's Bar, Castletownbere, Co. Cork

Made famous by the irascible Pete McCarthy. It's some spot, doubling as a grocery store, you can do the shopping whilst slurping pints of stout. Perfect!

1. Dick Mack's, Dingle, Co. Kerry

Those known to have supped here include Julia Roberts, Paul Simon, Robert Mitchum and Sean Connery and they ain't coming for the silver service, need I say anymore, check it out!!
